The design law in India has amended to incorporate the minimum standards of protection of industrial design.
Designs Act 200 aims at promoting innovative activity in the field of industries and serves its purpose well in the rapid changes in technology and international developments.
The Design Act was amended in the year 2008 (Designs Amendment Rules 2008) and the amendment provides for a more detailed classification of
design to conform to the international system and to take care of the proliferation of design related activities in various fields.
