The Controller General of Patents Design and Trademarks (CGPDTM) has issued a public notice informing the general public that fee for request for expedited legal certificate (TM-70) and request for expedited certificate for copyright purpose under Rule 24(3) (TM72) shall be accepted in the appropriate offices of the Trade Marks Registry only by way of demand draft issued in favor of Registrar of Trade Marks or by cash.
The CGPDTM has stated that aforementioned measure is taken as bank cheques often submitted to different offices of the Trade Marks Registry as fee for TM-70 and TM-72 are bounced and information to this effect is received from the Banks concerned after these requests are processed.
