{"id":1652,"date":"2025-06-16T11:26:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-16T11:26:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssrana.in\/posh-law\/?p=1652"},"modified":"2026-04-02T07:18:45","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T07:18:45","slug":"delhi-government-notice-on-she-box-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssrana.in\/posh-law\/news-event\/delhi-government-notice-on-she-box-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"Delhi Government Notice on SHe-Box Portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"em-name\">By Anuradha Gandhi and Isha Sharma<\/p>\n<p class=\"strong-text\">Introduction<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Women and Child Development had launched an upgraded version of the Sexual Harassment Electronic Box, known as the SHe-Box portal- a significant step towards strengthening the redressal mechanism under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 also commonly known as the POSH Act.<\/p>\n<p>This revamped portal not only allows any woman-whether employed or not-to lodge a complaint of sexual harassment at workplace, but it also places a compliance responsibility on all private and public organizations to register their Internal Committee\u2019 s (ICs) on the portal. This directive is in accordance with the orders of the Hon\u2019ble Supreme Court in the Civil Appeal titled <strong><em>Aureliano Fernandes vs. State of Goa and Ors.<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"short__heading2\">Mandatory IC Registration on SHe-Box Portal: Key Developments<\/h2>\n<p>In line with this mandate, several state governments across India have commenced issuing official directives and circulars, urging establishments within their jurisdiction to ensure timely registration and compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, the <strong><em>Department of Women and Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi (Women Empowerment Cell) <\/em><\/strong>had issued a public notice<a href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> <strong><em>dated June 12, 2025<\/em><\/strong>, calling upon all public sector organizations, private sector entities and their subordinate offices to register their organizational details on the SHe-Box portal<\/p>\n<p>This requirement is aimed at enabling seamless complaint filing, expediting resolution and maintaining a repository for data for monitoring and accountability.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"short__heading2 text-left\">Employers are therefore advised to:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Immediately ensure that their IC is duly constituted in accordance with the POSH Act;<\/li>\n<li>Register the IC on the SHe-Box portal as per the instructions available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[Click here to access the portal: <a href=\"https:\/\/shebox.wcd.gov.in\/\">https:\/\/shebox.wcd.gov.in\/<\/a>]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remain updated on further state-specific notifications or compliance deadlines that may be issued in this regard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>The notice reiterate that all concerned private sector organizations are hereby directed to comply with this mandatory requirement at the earliest, to uphold the law and to contribute to a safer and more respectful workplace for women.<\/p>\n<p>Organizations are therefore advised to take immediate steps to verify whether their ICs have been constituted and registered on the SHe-box portal, and if not, ensure compliance at the earliest to avoid any legal repercussions in future.<\/p>\n<p id=\"_ftn1\" class=\"text-left\">[1]<a href=\"https:\/\/ssrana.in\/posh-law\/pdf\/Government-of-NCT-of%20Delhi-Notification-SHe-Box-Registration.pdf\"> https:\/\/ssrana.in\/posh-law\/pdf\/Government-of-NCT-of%20Delhi-Notification-SHe-Box-Registration.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Anuradha Gandhi and Isha Sharma Introduction The Ministry of Women and Child Development had launched an upgraded version of the Sexual Harassment Electronic Box, known as the SHe-Box portal- a significant step towards strengthening the redressal mechanism under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 also commonly known [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":1656,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[12,9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1652","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-news-event"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
