Jurisdiction is power and authority of the any court of law to hear and adjudicate upon a particularly lawsuit. Section 9 of Code of Civil Procdure, 1908 deals with the jurisdiction of civil courts in India. There are two types of jurisdiction that a court can exercise in India:
- Pecuniary Jurisdiction: A court exercises pecuniary jurisdiction based on the value of the civil suit.
- Territorial Jurisdiction: A court exercises territorial jurisdiction based on the territorial boundaries as specified in the law.
