The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 also known as the POSH Act1, was a significant move by the Union Parliament to address the issue of sexual harassment that women are subjected to in course of their employment. It aims to create a safe and respectful working environment for all employees by prohibiting and providing redressal mechanisms for incidents of sexual harassment.
The POSH Act is further supported by the POSH Rules2 that encompasses detailed rules and guidelines for ensuring the effective implementation of the provisions of the POSH Act.
