The Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks (CGPDTM) has issued a Public Notice dated February 03, 2015 stating that due to technical problems in the storage of the central server of the Trade Marks Registry, no application, notice or any document with or without fee can be received through the Trade Marks System.
The said Public Notice does not mention when the technical problems shall be resolved however it has assured that serious efforts are being made to restore the system soon.
Till the time the server is restored, the applicants/opponents for trademarks or other stakeholders have been instructed to submit their applications/notice/any other document at the Front Office Counter of the appropriate office of the Trade Marks Registry and get the acknowledgment of the receipt of such document on its duplicate copy. Once the server has been restored, the submitted documents shall be received in the relevant module of the Trade Marks System with their actual date of submission.
Additionally, the applicants/opponents for trademarks or other stakeholders have been advised to submit their fee through Bank Drafts or Bankers’ Cheques only.
