The session focused on the Code on Social Security, 2020, one of the four transformative Labour Codes, and provided participants with a clear, practical understanding of how the new regime reshapes employer obligations and employee entitlements. The discussion covered key aspects such as expanded social security coverage, changes to provident fund, ESI, gratuity and maternity benefits, increased principal employer liability, and the emerging compliance landscape for gig and platform businesses.
The webinar also highlighted the practical impact of the Code on businesses, including cost implications, restructuring of wage definitions, fixed term employment considerations, and the importance of preparedness as State Rules continue to be notified.
