S.S. Rana & Co.., in collaboration with FICCI released 2nd Edition of its Report on Publishers’ Law Book on February 15th, 2024 during FICCI’s Seminar on Unleashing the Potential of Libraries: Role of Publisher.
The Panel was graced by presence of Ms. Mugdha Sinha, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Mr. Neeraj Jain, Chair, FICCI Publishing Committee and Mr. Sumeet Gupta, Assistant Secretary General, FICCI.
Our Managing Partner, Mr. Vikrant Rana while releasing the Report addressed audience about the Report, which provides an overview of publishing industry in India and across the world, substantiates challenges faced by publishers, authors, illustrates along with cases the laws governing publishing industry and also enumerates remedies and case studies to substantiate right of copyright owners.
The Seminar also witnessed Mr. Neeraj Jain’s welcome address, wherein he emphasized the essence of reading and libraries for kids and children. He also deliberated the role of librarians in assisting of reading and research at libraries.
His speech was followed by Ms. Mugdha Sinha’s captivating address, wherein she elaborated on importance of reviving culture of reading and libraries. She threw light on legislations and schemes formulated for advancing the object of libraries and publishing. She shared that library is not just a collection of books, it is a place for congregation of people. She also enlightened audience about the Central Reference Library, Kolkata (Ministry of Culture)- an authoritative record of books published in 14 different languages. During her speech she also encouraged hosting book launches, reading session and Literature fests at the National libraries instead of hotels!
