As part of its ongoing initiative to celebrate World IP Day (April 26) each year, S.S. Rana & Co. is organizing a series of IP awareness sessions across colleges and universities nationwide. Through these engagements, the Firm aims to promote a deeper understanding of intellectual property and its growing relevance in diverse sectors.
In continuation of this initiative, we are delighted to share that Ms. Sangeeta Nagar, Senior Scientist of S.S. Rana & Co. had the honour of delivering an insightful session on “IP and Filing” at Ideal Institute of Management & Technology (IIMT), School of Law, Karkardooma, Delhi.
The session provided a comprehensive deep dive into the various frameworks of Intellectual Property protection, including:
- Industrial Property: Patents, Trademarks, and Industrial Designs.
- Creative & Niche Rights: Copyrights, Geographical Indications (GIs), and Broadcasting Rights.
- Emerging Trends: The nuances of Personality Rights in the modern era.

The session was highly interactive, sparking a vibrant Q&A session with the audience. Approximately 70 law students attended the session.
Timed perfectly with the lead-up to World IP Day (celebrated annually on April 26), the discussion emphasized how IP rights serve as the backbone of global innovation. Ms. Nagar specifically highlighted the intersection of IP and the multi-billion-dollar sports industry, illustrating how legal protections fuel everything from athletic branding to technological advancements in equipment.
We extend our gratitude to the faculty and students of IIMT for their enthusiastic participation in fostering a culture of innovation.
At S.S. Rana & Co., we remain committed to advancing awareness of intellectual property law across diverse and emerging domains. We are proud to see our team actively contributing to the larger IP community through knowledge-sharing and thought leadership.
