S.S. Rana & Co. was pleased to partner with VDMA India in hosting an insightful CEO Roundtable on “Understanding the DPDP Act: Compliance, Risks and Strategic Readiness” on 25 May 2026 in Chennai.
The evening commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Rajesh Nath, Managing Director, VDMA India, who shared key insights from VDMA’s recent Business Climate Survey and highlighted the growing importance of regulatory preparedness and business continuity in India’s evolving digital economy.
The technical session, “Navigating the Digital Personal Data Protection Law: Compliance, Challenges and Strategic Insights,” was led by Mr. Vikrant Rana, Managing Partner, S.S. Rana & Co., and Mr. Johny Solomon Raj, Associate Partner, S.S. Rana & Co.


The discussion covered several critical aspects of DPDP compliance, including:

* Cross-border data transfer considerations and sectoral regulatory overlap involving RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and CERT-In
* The Significant Data Fiduciary (SDF) framework and enhanced compliance obligations
* Practical compliance strategies for multinational corporations, including gap assessments, consent redesign, breach response preparedness, and data flow mapping aligned with both GDPR and DPDP requirements
The interactive Q&A session witnessed engaging discussions around implementation timelines, vendor due diligence, cross-border operations, and business continuity planning, reflecting the growing focus on privacy governance and regulatory readiness among global enterprises.
