The Indian Trademark Registry has introduced the service of comprehensive e-filing of trademarks, which enable online filing of trademarks and facilitates the entry of aforesaid particulars along with the uploading of requisite documents online.

The advantage of “online trademark filing” or “e-facility” is that the same is cost effective and speedier mode of filing of trade mark application and also facilitates filing of the trade mark applications beyond the working hours or on non-business days of the IP Office.
In addition, now the Indian IP Office also provides e-services / online services for filing of trade mark applications, reply to examination reports, filing of notice of opposition, counter statements, filing of request for renewal of trade mark registrations etc.

In order to use the online trademark filing facility, the user has to be registered by filing a user registration form and the same can be filled only by the Agent, attorney or the proprietor.
