Joining the slew of commendable initiatives taken up by the Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) during the novel coronavirus pandemic, is the recent directive issued by the Hon’ble Chairman, Justice Manmohan Singh on May 26, 2020[1] wherein respective online e-filing platforms have been set up in accordance with the jurisdictions.
Amidst lockdown when the Courts and Tribunals are conducting hearings through video conferencing and e-filing, the directive mandates counsels and parties to e-file soft copies of their case matters on the following email addresses as per their jurisdictions –

In case where the counsels had already e-filed their soft copies on ipab.tn@nic.in have been requested to forward the same on the above mentioned addresses as per their jurisdictions.
E-filing: Additional Requirements
- For urgent filing, a duly signed scanned copy of the Appeal/Application along with its supplementary documents such as fee receipts, Miscellaneous Petition has to be submitted as per the provisions of the Act/Rules via email to IPAB.
- No unsigned Appeal/Application filed without the payment of the payment of the prescribed fees.
- Counsels to file an undertaking stating physical copies of the case matters to be filed as and when the lockdown terminates.
