Over 1000 tech startups were incorporated in India in 2017, as per a recent NASSCOM-Zinnov report taking the total number of tech startups to 5000-5200 of which almost 50% of the startups incepted in 2017 were in the B2B segment.
Bengaluru, Delhi/NCR and Mumbai retained their position as the key startup hubs in India, 20 per cent of the startups emerged from tier II/III cities.
NASSCOM recently released the list of 50 companies that emerged as hot startups of India on the sidelines of the annual flagship NASSCOM Product Conclave 2017 held in November, 2017 in The Silicon Valley of India (Bengaluru).
Nasscom Product Conclave 2017 saw a massive amount of submissions from startups year which were screened and scrutinized on business and technology parameters.
In particular, the assessments were based on parameters such as financials, growth, customers, market, visibility, scalability and, most importantly, innovation impact. The top 50 startups picked had been judged on their innovation and disruption quotients.
Ecommerce industry performed well and attracted substantial investments. Instead, the list comprised a substantial number of companies in healthcare and agriculture. In fact the Agriculture sector that holds massive potential and agricultural startups are doing some exciting and amazing work
