CGPDTM public notice on April 15, 2020
The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademark (CGPDTM) has vide its public notice dated April 15, 2020 notified that all the Offices under the administrative control of CGPDTM will not be physically accessible by public till May 03, 2020.
The aforesaid notification has been issued by the CGPDTM in the wake of extension of national lockdown till May 03, 2020 by the Government of India. It has also been notified that all hearings scheduled with the Offices under the administrative control of CGPDTM upto May 03, 2020 have been adjourned and fresh hearing dates in such matters will be notified later.
It would be pertinent to mention here that the e-filing services of the Offices of CGPDTM are operational 24×7 and remain unaffected amidst the lockdown.
The Office of CGPDTM had vide its notice dated March 25, 2020 notified that all the Offices of CGPDTM would remain closed for a period of 21 days with effect from March 25, 2020. However, the global pandemic has claimed several lives and the demographics of the virus is increasing day-by-day. With a view to contain the spread of this deadly virus and safety of general public, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14, 2020 extended the country-wide lockdown till May 03, 2020, subsequent to which several government bodies including CGPDTM have revised their earlier notification.
