India: Rajasthan Pollution Control Board issues Press Release on the ban of Pet Coke & Furnace Oil

In furtherance to the uncompromising order dated October 24, 2017 of the Supreme Court of India banning the usage of the pet coke and furnace oil by the industries in NCR regions including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana with effect from November 01, 2017, the Rajasthan Pollution Control Board has now issued a press release to the said effect.

As per the said press release, the Pollution Control Board on the basis of the order of the apex court has directed all the industries located in Rajasthan to completely refrain from using the banned products/ fuels viz. pet coke and furnace oil. It has also been mentioned in the said release that violators of the uncompromising ban shall be prosecuted accordingly under the applicable law(s).The said press release has been issued in vernacular and can be accessed by clicking here.

Similar press release/ statement does not appear to have been issued by the pollution control boards of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
