Geographical Indication Fees in India
The “First Schedule” appended to the The Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Rules, 2002 provides for the Geographical Indication Fees.
*The fees may be paid in form of Cash / Money Order / Bank Demand Drafts / Cheques at the Office of Geographical Indications Registry, Intellectual Property Office Building, G.S.T. Road, Guindy, Chennai – 600032, Tamil Nadu, India. Bank Demand Drafts/Cheques shall be drawn in favour of “Registrar of Geographical Indications” Payable at Chennai.

The Draft Amended Rules were notified by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on September 16, 2019. The draft amended rules inter alia propose to reduce the official fees for GI registration process in India.
