Process of design registration:
- Once filed, the design undergoes a formality examination and is published for opposition purposes, and thereafter proceeds to substantive examination.
- If there is no opposition or objection or office action, the design proceeds to registration.
Required Documents:
- Clear representations or drawings of the article(s) with a caption for each of the drawing (e.g. perspective view, front view, back view, right view, left view, upper view, bottom view).
- Simply signed Power of Attorney.
- Simply signed Statement of Ownership.
- Simply signed Deed of Assignment from Designer(s) to Applicant in English or with English translation (if applicable).
- Certified Copy of Priority document as filed at the Convention country (if claiming). If the Priority document is not in the English Language, we will also require a certified English translation of the Priority document.
- The Indonesian sworn translation of the English document if Priority is claimed (will be prepared at our end).
Time Frame:
- The application should be processed, examined and registered within 18-24 months from the date of filing.
- Registration is valid for 10 years from date of application.
- Design registrations are not renewable.
Multiple Designs:
Multiple design applications are not recognized and therefore, each design has to be filed as an individual
application. However, an Industrial Design application can be filed for several designs of products that constitute a unity of an Industrial Design or that have the same Locarno class
