Design Law in Kuwait

Process of design registration:

Please be advised that designs applications in Kuwait can be filed along with the required documents or can be filed immediately without the same while all the needed documents and/or fees to be submitted within 3 months as from the application filing date in Kuwait, in order to be accepted in terms of form.

Required Documents:

1. A Power of Attorney duly legalized up to the Kuwaiti Consulate.
2. Extract of the Commercial Register, Articles of Incorporation
3. Title and brief description of the design, together with two copies of its drawings.
4. A copy of priority document duly legalized up to the Kuwaiti Consulate (if applicable)
5. Filing Particulars of applicant(s) / designer(s), their addresses and nationalities.
6. Legalized Power of Attorney and legalized Extract from the Commercial Register or Articles of Incorporation is sufficient for filing any number of design applications for the same applicant in Kuwait

Time Frame:

The registration process usually takes 6-8 months to be completed

Multiple Designs:

It is not possible to file multiple design applications in one application.
